IHS Band
Mr. Bixler took these students to the State Band Clinic this week, this morning they will be performing in concert. IHS Spanish Club
IHS Spanish Club held a toy drive in junction with Independence Fire Department and was able to collect 60 toys in 4 days for Independence community. In addition getting into the holiday spirit with Spanish color by number giant Christmas pictures in the hall.
IHS Cross Country
Congratulations to our Cross Country team led by Coach Kile for finishing top 10 in the State!
IHS Choir Competes at Festival
Our Choir members performed beautifully at Riverland Choral Festival on November 5th! Our women's ensemble, men's ensemble, and full choir earned ratings of Excellent from the judges, while our mixed ensemble earned a Superior rating and trophy. Clay Gregg also received individual compliments from two of the judges on his solo during the men's ensemble's African piece, and the full choir was complimented for their professionalism in handling unexpected circumstances.
IHS Band
Band scored Superior at the West Alabama Marching Festival on 10/28.. Our Color Guard placed second overall. Guard has been superior all year with our highest scores ever. Julisa Olivera has also been a superior drum major all year.
IHS Football Team
The 2022 Wildcat Football Team finished the regular season this year 7-2. 4-0 in district play. Winning the District 2-3A Championship for the first time since 1987.
IHS FFA Alumni Hosts Annual Auction
Independence FFA held their annual BBQ Supper and Live auction Friday, October 21. This is the Independence FFA's largest fundraiser of the year. We had a great turn out of over 120 people who came out to support us.
